A Kalanchoe Humilis, more commonly but still unknown as the Kalanchoe Desert Surprise is a plant not seen very often. I've been lucky enough to source these tall beauties with their flowers in bud! With their leaves vibrant and succulent-like, they are patterned with their unique but also tiger-like markings. They are what I'd like to call... The Tiger of Succulents! Originating from Central and South West Africa, they are found growing in dry landscapes such as scrub forests (desert regions). They tend to bud in October releasing their many flowers in Autumn which develop a fiery colouring that compliments their tiger-striped succulent leaves. It's definitely a show-stopper!
Light: Kalanchoe Humilis (Desert Rose) likes bright indirect light, however, as a succulent plant it will also enjoy a sunny spot and therefore can handle being placed on your bright windowsill. The brighter the light the more colour in the plant! Do make sure it isn't hit by direct mid-day sun in Summer.

Water: Kalanchoe Desert Surprise only actually requires the occasional water. So think Snake Plant but less on the spikey side! It is the beginner's dream and would suit any plant killers out there or even a gift for your best friend! They love to be kept dry, treat it like a cactus/succulent and you really can't go wrong. During Winter, keep them dry with only occasional watering.
It's toxic to our furry friends :(
